Notes on Action

On August 22nd, the British ships Isis, 50, Captain Robert Watson; Reunion, 36, Captain James Alms (2); Stag, 32, Captain Joseph Sydney Yorke; and Vestal, 28, Captain Charles White, captured the Dutch frigate Alliantie, 36, after an hour's fight. The Dutch vessels Argo, 36, and Vlugheid, 16, which were with her, escaped into the Norwegian harbour of Egero. The British loss was 5 killed and 17 wounded. The Argo lost 2 killed and 15 wounded. The Alliantie' s 3 loss is unknown.
