Notes on Action

In February 1808, the Imperieuse, 38, Captain Lord Cochrane, was directed to harass the French and Spanish coasts to the best of her Captain's ability. Her first exploitdash in amongst four Spanish gunboats which she caught some miles from Cartagena. One was taken, another escaped, and two were sunk
