The Dutch squadron set to guard their North Sea fishing fleet was attacked by eight of Blake's 'frigates'.  All twelve Dutch vessels were taken. Three were sunk as useless, three sent into Inverness "for the use of Major-General Deane" and six kept with the fleet.
