Son of Lt James Puckinghorn (born c. 1722). Born 1785 (St Austell). Same person as Lt James Puckinghorn (LT 1808), changed spelling to Polkinghorne 1817. Died at sea off Barbados 1839 while Captain of HMS Crododile.

My 4x Great grandfather. Is same person as Captain James Polkinghorne. His father Lt James Puckinghorn spelt the name this way. This JP wrote to Admiralty 1817 to have spelling changed after death of a relative. He died 1839 in Barbados while captain of HMS Crocodile.
