2.3.17558.6.1755He assumes command of the 64’s vessel "Alcide" in the division of du Bois de la Motte , escorting a convoy of troops bound for Canada .During the crossing, on June 8, 1755, NE of Cape Race (Newfoundland) his ship and two other vessels including the Lys, under the command of Lorgeril , were intercepted by an English squadron commanded by Boscawen .The English commander of the Dunkirk , Howe , orders him to bring the flag. Blincourt having asked him if we were at peace or at war , Howe replied "at peace" and opened fire .After a strong resistance , his ship is captured , he is wounded and taken Prisoner for the third time by Boscawen , before any declaration of war .ref:673
