OOPS -- TYPO. The date of Holloy's commission as Captain, Vengeance, 3d/74, is correctly 17 Jan 1780.

He was promoted on the Leeward Islands station by RA Hyde Parker as (1) Commander, Barbadoes, Sloop, on 07 Jan 1780, then a fortnight later on 23 Jan 1783 as (2) Captain Vengeance, 3d/74; both commissions confirmed by Admiralty on 27 June 1780 [ADM 6/22,p.145]
