following the battle of USS Chesapeake Vs Hms Shannon. Lt Falkiner took command to the Chesapeake and sailed her to Portsmouth. I am curious, does a Prize=Master situation. like this one, get recorded as a Service Record as a command or commission. I would have though once the flag is raised and he is appointed as commanding officer it is deemed an official command.
