Lieutenant Michael Kearny is listed as acting commander of the Guernsey, 50 guns, in the fleet commanded by Boscawen in the battle off Gibraltar on 18 Aug 1759. William Laird Clowes's "The Royal Navy, A History from the Earliest Times to the Present" (London 1898), vol. III, pp 212-213, gives the order of battle for the British and French fleets, and mentions the Guernsey in the account.
