Married Phoebe Cook on Aug 17 1790 in St Sidwell, Exeter, Devon. Death 1829, London at age 72. Buried at Christ Church, Southwark, July 24 1829. Captain TE Hinton, of St George's, buried with wife Phoebe died 1832 and grandson Charles Petty Hinton d age 16 in 1843. Gravestone on top of paving flag still visible.

TE Hinton is left a £20 annuity in the will of his kinsman William Hinton of Marvell, IoW, written Jan 4 1810
