Further to my previous comments, the correct spelling of the surname is Hook, not Hooke.

EDMUND HOOKE WAS AN ANCESTOR OF MINE. HIS GRANDDAUGHTER MARGARET HOOKE MARRIED ROBERT BRIGGS IN LONDON C1780.
I HAVE HIS MOURNING RING. HE DIED 1745, PORTSMOUTH.

The mourning ring was engraved with the date that I would believe to be his date of death.
Admiral Sir Edmund Hook died “ob 12th April 1745” and was born c1679 based on the statement in my notes regarding his maritime history, being 21 years of age, in a document signed 17th January, 1701. I believe the ob is an abbreviation for obituary or Latin for Died.
