Dutch Expedition to Palembang 1821

Introduction

Following an earlier attempt, the Dutch successfully sent naval and military forces to the Sultanate of Palembang in 1821 to establish a garrison there. Two years later, in 1823, the sultanate was abolished by the Dutch and annexed to the Dutch East-Indies.
