Extract of a letter from Captain Henry Carew, Commander ofi His Majesty's Sloop Swan, to Evan Nepean, Esq; dated in Yarmouth Roads, the 6th of September,

I have the honor to communicate to you, for the information of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, that on the 12th Ultimo, at 9 P. M. the Fly bearing S.W. 6 leagues, I fell in with and captured the Goede Verwayteng Sloop Privateer, of 8 guns and 28 men, belonging to Amsterdam, out 15 weeks, and has taken 3 prizes.
