Sources are divided as to which of the two contemporaneous Aguilas was struck off and broken up at Callao in 1771, and which was sold, also in Peru, in 1778. The Spanish on the whole favour the continued existence of Aguila (1753) until 1778, and therefore the breaking up of Aguila (1767) in 1771.
