* edit * Full correct name: Jacob Willemsz Hoeck. He was born in Rotterdam, but lived during his life in Schiedam. He bacame a Captain in Danish naval service and took part in the battle of Öland (commanded the 62-gun ship Enighed, 1676)and Battle of Koge Bay (1677). later he commanded the Christiana (54 guns).

From 1672 to 1674 commander of the Faam: Jacobus Hoeck. Rank: commandeur / kapitein.
Jacobus Hoeck hunted privateers and was scout for Michel de Ruyter and Cornelis Tromp. He tooks part of the expedition of de Ruyter to Martinique in 1674.
