An East Indiaman called the Hastings foundered off Pulau Sapata in 1787 on return from China. Captain and officers were rescued by the Milford. 130 men lost. This reference comes from the Letters of Francis Light to EIC SSFR Reel 3 Vol 3 Fort William Proceedings in Council, 13 February 1788. Light's letter was dated January 1788
