It seems unlikely that the Asp referred to in 1825 is one and the same. This Asp was, according to admiralty captain and pay logs, only in commission from April until September 1826.

Both the Three Decks database and Wikipedia reference to the Cutter Asp (1826). Both note of previous Asp vessels but with none being in the service of the Royal Navy after 1814.

I wonder if Asp (1826) was actually procured earlier than 1826. An HM Cutter Asp is referred to in a letter dated 28 April 1825 from Lieutenant James Beckford Lewis Hay commanding H.M. Cutter Woodlark to his commanding officer (and brother-in-law) Captain Sir Edward William Campbell Rich Owen of H.M.S. Gloucester. Herewith is the relevant extract:

........I considered it expedient to bear up for Corton road, where I anchored in the evening:— on the morning of 23rd. I again weighed, and sailed in Company with H.M. Cutter Asp on my return to Orfordness:—while beating along shore to try rate of sailing with Asp, the Woodlark grounded on Bernard sand off Banacre sluice — every effort was immediately made to get her off, but the tide falling rapidly rendered it impossible till the return of the flood; when, with the assistance of the Asp who anchored near us for the purpose, and our Kedge Anchor, she was again placed in deep water, without having sustained the slightest injury; the wind being light and the sea smooth.......
