Captain Charles Smith, Virginia. Account of works carried out on the Oxford.

1712 Jul 28

Sailed from England in spring to Virginia with 54-gun HMS Severn, 32-gun HMS Bedford Galley and 36-gun HMS Milford.

Charles Smith remained captain during this voyage.

Folio 237: Commissioner Isaac Townsend, Portsmouth. Receipt of the letter about the tallowing of the Berwick, Bredah and Dreadnought and the warrant to refit the Launceston for a voyage to Newfoundland, the Oxford, Severn, Bedford Galley and Milford sailed yesterday for Virginia with a convoy, the Jolly was docked.
