In company with the Mary, took an Algerine, the Tiger of 40 guns. In the Rupert, all the officers, down to the boatswain's mate, had been killed or wounded, nineteen people in all being killed, and between thirty and forty wounded. Herbert, by the explosion of some bandoliers which lay on the quarter-deck, was badly burnt about the face, and lost the sight of one of his eyes.
