Glasgow Herald Jan 17, 1806 - We received this morning Jamaica papers to the 16th of November. They inform us of the melancholy loss of the El Orquixo, of 18 guns, Capt. Leslie on the 7th of November off Port Antonio. Of the 136 persons on board, including a detachment of the 6th battalion of the 60th regiment, (8 officers and 30 men) 101 perished. The following is a list of officer picked up by meritorious exertions of the Penguin brig. of 18 guns, Capt. Morris.
