Originally a French whaling vessel. Captured as a French privateer. Portuguese armament- 20-12#, 8-6#. Listed as 347 tons, but unsure as to measurement. Crew- 166. Reference- French Warships in the Age of Sail 1786-1861 by Rif Winfield and Stephen S. Roberts. Note: It's hard to imagine such a small vessel carrying 12# guns. If true, they must have been special short guns or carronades.
